February 7th 2004: Start of STROMgitarren
After 18 months of intense research, negotiating contracts, debating contents and design, establishing contacts with possible donators, writing texts, selecting pictures, compiling audio- and video programs, setting up a homepage and lots more, another four weeks of construction, the occasional nightshift... it is done.
The whole team and 600 guests listened to the usual introductory speeches and the entertaining lecture of jazz guitarist and tutor Frank Kuruc from Stuttgart, who was accompanied by guitarist Hans Reffert from Mannheim with impressive interludes on five different guitars.
If there had not been so many different people and so little space, it would have been possible to exchange a few words with everyone. But, there was only time for a short hello and quick handshake. Everyone acknowledged: The star is the guitar.
Apologies to everyone we did not see in the crowd and praise to all who have contributed ideas and advice, donators, friends, supporters and sponsors of the project, colleagues, journalists, Timo Joél and all the helping hands from the team of id.3d-berlin who designed the exhibition.
We had a lot of fun. Now, we can only hope that everyone who sees the exhibition agrees.
The pictures speak for themselves.
