Rehearsal Room

Rehearsal Room

The first guitar, a cool riff, and one's own band: Childhood dreams. Even the stars of past and present had to start from scratch. Long before the first gig was played and the first demo tape was passed around they had had to rehearse, rehearse and rehearse.
Of course, a rehearsal room was essential. It had to be found and equipped with guitars, bass guitar, drums, microphones and amplifiers. The first equipment never had a good sounding name. There has always been a market for cheap products; and although the first guitar was soon abandoned it was never forgotten.
Listen to the single instruments of a band playing together. The sound is not perfect yet. They are still rehearsing.

The first guitar

In the sixties, mail order guitars were very popular. The American mail order corporation Sears, Roebuck & Co. ordered guitars in large quantities from companies such as Danelectro, Kay or Harmony and sold them via their catalogue under the brand name Silvertone. In Germany, Quelle used the same strategy. Their "Triumphator" guitars were made by Klira in Bubenreuth near Erlangen.
