Guitar bizarre
The electric guitar seems to inspire the imagination. Since its body does not need to fulfil any acoustic properties, almost any shape is possible. Thus, instruments are created which stand out visually from the multitude of competing guitars. Concerns about functionality and ergonomics are of secondary importance only. Many of these guitars are prototypes. Others are produced in small numbers. They can be seen as pieces of art, as bad taste gone guitar, or even as trash. In any case, eccentric musicians love to use them as eye catchers on stage. Generally, odd-shaped guitars played by celebrities and known through the media enter auctions at a relatively high minimum bidding price. Many of the others end up on the walls of rehearsal and party rooms once their time has come and gone. |
